McKendree University students will present, perform and exhibit their scholarly and creative works during the 2019 Academic Excellence Celebration on April 25 at the Lebanon, Ill., campus.

At the end of every academic year, William Woods University recognizes a select group of students as Distinguished Scholars. Faculty members designate one graduating senior from each program for the honor. While eligibility requires a minimum 3.4 grade point average, faculty consider other relevant academic factors in the selection process.

The following students have been named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Southeast Missouri State University.

It was a successful year for William Woods University academics. A total of 259 students were named to the Dean's List for academic accomplishments during the 2016 fall term. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be full-time and have achieved a minimum 3.6 semester and cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Congratulations to all of the students who are honored on this list.

William Woods University celebrated its 147th commencement on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The university conferred 840 degrees, including 243 undergraduate and 597 graduate students. They earned degrees including: associate of applied arts, bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of social work, master of business administration, master of education, education specialist in administration, and doctorate in educational leadership. Award-winning country music star and New York Times best-selling author, Jimmy Wayne, spoke at the undergraduate ceremony in the morning, while Dr. Sherri Thomas, a William Woods alumna and principal of the Lewis and Clark Middle School in Jefferson City, MO, spoke to the graduate students in the afternoon.

Lakeview College of Nursing recently awarded a bachelor of science in nursing degree to 69 students who attended the College's Danville and Charleston locations.

Concordia University, Nebraska named 247 students to its honors list for the spring 2016 semester. The top 25 percent of all undergraduate students who complete at least 12 credit hours qualify for the honors list.

A third fraternity, Sigma Tau Gamma, has been established at William Woods University, joining Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Gamma Delta. The new chapter has 13 founding fathers and is the fraternity's 70th nationally recognized chapter.

Iota Tau Alpha was established to recognize and honor those individuals in the field of athletic training education who have through scholarship, integrity and outstanding achievement been a credit to their profession.
